GEIC team is led by the General Manager, Dr. Ali A. Al Marri, and the Executive Director, Mr. Suhail Al Hamadani, and both are actively involved in the day-to-day operations of the company
Dr. Ali Al Marri is the owner and General Manager of Gulf Engineering & Industrial Consultancy (GEIC). A professional mechanical engineer by education and training with over 35 years’ experience in project development and execution in Qatar. Dr. Al-Marri earned his Master of Science Degree from Cranfield Institute of Technology in the year 1985 and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from University of Wales, United Kingdom in 1990. Dr. Al-Marri began his professional career as an engineer in 1978 in the Ministry of Electricity and Water, and his career culminated in the position of Director of Programmes& Projects Department of the Ministry in the year 1991. He has also served as member in a number of official committees and project teams.
He has led his consulting engineering practice since 2001. He was the Director of Programmes& Projects Dept., Ministry of Electricity and Water, State of Qatar from 1990 to 1999. During this period, the Dept. executed projects worth approximately 10 Billion Qatari Riyals. The last government post he held was as an Adviser to H.E. The Minister of Energy, Industry, Electricity & Water on the Electricity and Water Affairs. He has also served as member in a number of official committees and project teams. He has travelled worldwide, and has attended numerous training courses and conferences, particularly in the fields of Power & Water Production & Transmission.
Leadership and Management role for the organization in addition to office-based work. Has 23 years' experience in engineering field in Management, Design, Design Review, Construction Supervision, training and academic work in Iraq, Qatar, UAE, Libya & Oman. Mr. Suhail holding Bachelor Degree of Civil Engineering and Master Degree of Civil and Environmental Engineering.
Mr. Suhail has performed successfully in managing, design, planning and construction supervision. He is particularly suited to different scale projects where he has demonstrated a talent for project delivery and innovative design solutions.
Experienced in design works and site technical issues for many infrastructure related projects as well as other types of projects. Responsible for heading the project design team, liaising and discussing with the Authorities, Clients, Sub- Consultants, etc. Also involved in the preparation of consultancy proposals for infrastructure works.
His role as the Executive Director is to design, develop and implement strategic plans for the organization in a cost-effective and time-efficient manner. He is also responsible for the day-to-day operation of the organization. This includes managing the staff as well as developing business plans in collaboration with the GM.
